

Dr. Katherine JD Alexander Mann received her PharmD from Duquesne University in 2014, and currently practices as a clinical hospital pharmacist. Though her career is in the medical profession, her true passion is dance.

She founded Exhalations Dance Theatre in 2010 at Duquesne University, and has been the founding and managing director for the organization since.
​
Her dance training began at a young age at Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet, and was continued in the Pittsburgh Area under the private instruction of Mansur Kamaletdinov, of the Vagonava School; and under Roberto Munoz, Ana Blum, Natalie Kapeluck, and Kim Rausch at SouthWest Ballet of Pittsburgh. Her summers included training sessions at American Ballet Theatre and Point Park University.

Despite being a ballerina she also had an interest in folk dancing; performing with Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, St. George Tamburitzans, and Otets Paissi Bulgarian ensemble. She was a performer and choreographer for Encore Show Choir of Duquesne University; and was a member and choreographer for Spotlight Musical Theater Company of Duquesne University.

She is currently a lead choreographer and dancer for Exhalations Dance Theatre, as well as a company manager and production director for Exhalations Dance Theatre, and Duquesne University Dance Theatre.
